Do strands of your hair come off as you run the comb through your hair? Are you tired of trying every expensive hair product, but have been extremely disappointed? You should, maybe, consider looking for remedies inside your home now. Your kitchen has all the answers to reduce your hair fall, and restore the lost shine and volume.

Here are some simple and effective hair masks you can put together at home:

1

Egg And Yogurt Hair Mask

Eggs are the best sources of proteins you are likely to find. Proteins are essential for your hair because they replenish the lost nutrients, and strengthen your hair follicles, thus preventing hair fall. For this mask, you will need:

  • 1 or 2 eggs, depending on the length of your hair
  • ½ to 1 cup of yogurt. The quantity of yogurt used will also depend on the length of your hair.
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • A drop of vanilla essence
  • Juice of 1 lemon

Procedure: Separate the eggs from their whites. The separation is because, for oily and greasy hair, you should be using only the egg whites. For dry and brittle hair, you should use the yolk. You can use the whole egg for normal hair. Once you have the part of the egg that suits your hair, beat it thoroughly. Next, add the yogurt, and keep whisking. Add the olive oil and the vanilla essence next, and continue to whisk lightly. Lastly, add the lemon juice to add to stimulate your scalp. Whisk the mixture thoroughly so that it does not form clumps. Apply the mixture on your scalp, right from the roots to the hair ends. Let the mask sit for 15 minutes, and wear a shower cap on your head. The shower cap will keep the mask from dripping everywhere. Once dry, wash your hair properly to remove all the egg from it. The vanilla essence will prevent your hair from having that egg stench. However, do not forget to shampoo your hair.

Coconut Oil Hair Mask:

If you have been suffering from dryness of hair, coconut oil can do wonders for you. It will not only hydrate your hair but also ensure that you have reduced hair fall. It is advisable to add some olive oil to the coconut oil to accentuate the benefits. You will need:

  • 2 parts coconut oil
  • 1 part olive oil

Procedure: Once you have taken both the ingredients in a small glass bowl, massage your scalp with this mixture. Make sure you gently massage your scalp with the tips of your fingers, and cover the entire length of your hair – from the roots to the tips. Next, tie your hair up in a bun, and cover it with a shower cap. Let it sit for 20-30 minutes before washing it off. If you want better results, you can wrap a towel soaked in warm water around the bun. The heat will allow your skin pores to open up and absorb the benefits of the oils even quicker. Coconut oil has been considered the secret to beautiful long and strong hair since ages.

Banana And Egg Hair Mask

Bananas contain a host of nutrients like potassium, vitamins A, E, and C, which help reduce hair fall by strengthening hair follicles, and healing dry, damaged hair. Eggs, on the other hand, are rich sources of proteins that also contribute to strengthening your hair follicles. For this mask, you will need:

  • 1 or 2 overripe bananas
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Procedure: Blend the banana to a smooth consistency, so that it does not form clumps. Next, add the olive oil, egg white, and honey to blend again. The mask is ready once you have attained a smooth, delicious mixture. Slather the mask generously in your hair, and allow it to sink in. Let it sit for about 5 minutes before you rinse your hair. Also, while rinsing, you should use warm water and get the entire mixture out of your hair. Once you have rinsed, gently run a comb through your hair to remove any other stray banana mask mixture that might have been left behind. Rinse one last time, and you will have smooth, soft and strong hair.

Strawberry Hair Mask

I bet you know that strawberries are highly nutritious, but what if I told you that these delicious fruits were extremely beneficial for your hair as well? Strawberries are a rich source of vitamin C that is perfect for controlling your scalp’s oil secretions. Also, the additional coconut oil in this mask allows your hair to receive the appropriate nourishment to treat dry and damaged hair. You will require:

  • 7-8 fresh strawberries (for medium length hair)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Procedure: Blend all the ingredients together to form a nice, thick puree. Take water in a spray bottle, and dampen your hair. Next, apply this mixture generously over your damp hair. Allow the mask to sit for 7-10 minutes before rinsing it with warm water. You may choose to keep the mask on your hair for a longer duration. Make sure you get all the pieces of strawberry out, and you will be rewarded with soft, yet strong hair. Hair care doesn’t take much time. If you follow a disciplined, weekly hair care routine, you will bid your hair fall troubles goodbye and welcome rich, soft, long, and beautiful hair!
